Uganda — Logos Center!

Uganda — Logos Center!

We began building the “Timothy Logos” Center in 2021. It is the only center for discipleship and biblical education located at the border of three countries—South Sudan, Uganda, and Congo. South Sudan is home to 64 tribes, but due to constant internal and external conflicts, reaching these tribes is not easy. Believers from South Sudan also work in North Sudan, and for them having an educational center in Moyo, northern Uganda, is an absolute necessity.

In Titus 1:9 it is written that a pastor must hold firmly to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able both to encourage with sound doctrine and to refute those who oppose it.

Work has already begun at the Timothy Logos Center, and many students have shared testimonies of refuting false teachings in their churches, which prompted many churches to restructure their leadership and congregations. These testimonies were truly encouraging, as they did not cause divisions or conflicts but, on the contrary, led to unity. We have already trained pastors from 15 tribes across Congo, Uganda, South Sudan, and Sudan.

We thank you for your continual prayers, support of the ministry in this region, and partnership in proclaiming the Gospel.

Uganda — Logos Center!

Uganda — Logos Center!

Every month, various groups of students, pastors, and women’s ministry leaders gather at the Timothy Logos Center, which the mission built for believers from South Sudan. In September, I and other brothers taught biblical doctrines at the center. I finished teaching the doctrine of the Trinity, which prompted many questions. I was helped by a quote from Charles Spurgeon:
“We will never be able to understand how the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit can be three persons and at the same time one God. As for me, I long ago gave up any desire to comprehend this great mystery.”

I would like to express to all of you my sincere gratitude for your tireless prayers and support of the Timothy Logostraining center in northern Uganda, in the city of Moyo. There were no theological seminaries in this region, and we are grateful that we can provide theological education to church leaders here, thereby reducing transportation costs from the West Nile region. This place is strategically located near the borders of Uganda, South Sudan, and Congo. You can send your ministers to study with us, and they will undoubtedly be transformed.

Thank you for your prayers, beloved in Christ.

Uganda – School in Bidi-Bidi

Uganda – School in Bidi-Bidi

I would like to sincerely thank you for standing with me in prayer for the ministry in the refugee camps of South Sudan in northern Uganda. These camps were established in 2013, right after the war broke out in Juba. Hundreds of thousands of people fled to Uganda, and we thank God that they found refuge in this country.

This Christmas season, filled with joy and excitement, I would like you to remember Ebenezer Secondary School in the Bidi-Bidi camp. We opened it in 2017 to meet the educational needs of South Sudanese refugees. The school has 350 students, most of whom are girls. Many of them walk up to 10 kilometers every day, often on an empty stomach. The school does not have a dormitory, and at home, they receive a meager food ration due to a lack of funds to purchase food.

Another important prayer need is that there are 15 teachers and support staff, and the school has been unable to pay salaries or provide incentives for several months. The school is truly facing difficulties and needs resources and intervention.

We teach God’s word and conduct discipleship for the students every Wednesday. The school excels in academics, with students consistently receiving excellent marks in Uganda’s national exams over the last three years. This year, as you celebrate the Christmas season, I would ask you to remember this school in your prayers and speak to friends about the school. It brings me great joy that the word of God is preached, and the students are learning in the classroom. I would like you to support the school.

Trip to Sudan and Uganda!

Trip to Sudan and Uganda!

On March 12, a team from various churches embarked on a mission trip to Uganda and South Sudan! For over 10 years, around 2,000,000 refugees from Sudan have been living in camps in northern Uganda. Their situation is worsening, as the monthly ration has again been reduced to 3 kg of beans and 6 kg of cornmeal. This is distributed by the camp administration only to the elderly, widows, and the disabled! Therefore, we brought food to share during our meetings.

After loading two trucks with food, the team set off for northern Uganda. Part of the team traveled to South Sudan to help in a hospital and to get acquainted with school projects and the local church in Kajo Keji. Life in the camps is becoming unbearable, which is why some refugees returned to South Sudan after a truce between the warring parties. Others are waiting for the elections in December 2024, fearing that war will again force them to flee their homeland, and they hope to return in early 2025.

Together with Willy Daiker and Vasily Stupin, we conducted training on discipleship, leadership, and counseling!

We thank everyone who donated and prayed for us! In November 2024, we plan to send a construction team to Uganda to complete the discipleship center in the city of Moyo!

Uganda – Work for Women

Uganda – Work for Women

Many women in refugee camps struggle to provide for their children. While believers may have found peace for their souls, material prosperity and stability for their families remain significant challenges. Due to the level of illiteracy among women, earning a living is not easy to accomplish. They want to give their children what they themselves did not have, both in terms of health and education. Many of these mothers did not finish school themselves, but they are now paying for their children’s education.

Getting an education in the camp for mothers with children is impossible, but thankfully, they can learn a trade. Tailoring is a very successful profession in the camp! Women learn to sew, cut fabric, and make clothes. Tailoring is a skill that anyone can learn, regardless of their level of education. It only takes a few months for a person to learn how to cut, sew, and start earning a living.

By learning tailoring, many mothers have brought smiles to their children and their entire families. We want to purchase 100 sewing machines at $150 each and provide women in refugee camps in northern Uganda with the opportunity to earn for their families. Thank you for participating in our joint ministry!

Uganda – School is Closing

Uganda – School is Closing

Ebenezer Secondary School was founded by a church. The school opened in 2017 and educates 350 students. Most of the students are orphans, and the school is located in the largest refugee settlement in the Yumbe District of Uganda. The school employs 13 trained teachers and is very successful, being the leading school in the refugee camps in the Yumbe area of Uganda.

The school has four classes, from senior to fourth grade, and the students take national Ugandan school exams, with excellent results. A significant portion of the students are girls, many of whom drop out of school due to the lack of hygiene kits. Out of embarrassment, many tend to quit school and prefer to stay at home.

The school lacks educational materials such as pens, pencils, notebooks, rulers, math sets, and other items. There is also a lack of laboratory reagents and a facility where students can conduct practical experiments.

The biggest need is the lack of teacher support, which is a major threat causing the school to close in December 2023 and not reopen, as the teachers have not received support for the last three months.

On behalf of the school and personally, I want to ask you to pray and support the school in the Bidi Bidi refugee camp in Northern Uganda. We pray that you support one child with $20 per month. We pray to support the teachers with $100 per month so that the school does not close. Thank you for being with us!
