We organized the first meeting for people with disabilities, which was attended by about 30 people. We offered refreshments at the tables. A few shared their testimonies, how in Jesus Christ, they can worthily overcome all obstacles, even with a disability. We had visitors who heard the first time about Christ. They heard not only about the possibilities of “limited” people, but also about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
The other day, a sister approached me, who seemed to be far from the problems of people with disabilities. She shared her feelings about women who care for their disabled children but are often in hopeless despair. She offered to start praying for a ministry with them. This touched my heart deeply. Indeed, when building the House of Prayer, even at the design stage, we took into account all the necessary building requirements so that our new building would meet all conditions necessary and be convenient and accessible to any person who wants to be in fellowship with other Christians!
But today we are again in dire need. We want start using our new building. To do this, we need to insert the front door, insulate the ceiling and roof and purchase pipes and radiators for a total of $4900.
“Solomon your son will build my house and my courts, because I have chosen him to be my son” 1 Chronicles 28: 6
We are experiencing another round of blessings, and of course trials, that shows us that we are moving in the right direction by spreading and affirming Biblical truths.
During one of the services, a man came forward to repent, his wife was reconciled with the Lord a month ago. Heartbroken, he turned to Jesus and was asking for forgiveness of his sins and a desire to devote his life to Him. Today, he, along with his wife, attends classes for those who wish to get baptized.
Looking to the future, we are especially, can’t wait to the day when we can perform our services in the new and bigger building. Even though, since the foundation of the Word of Truth, we have greatly succeeded but today we are faced with a problem of continuing the construction.
We don’t have enough money to enter the building and begin to our services there. We need to erect the gables, insert windows and doors and then we can finally start heating the building.
After we complete this work, we will be to enter the new building and hold our services in there. Thank you for the prayers and support of our small church.
At the beginning of the year, the Omsk Church of the ECB held a water baptism. Timofey, a brother from our local Church “Word of Truth” was also baptized.
He comes from a Christian family, attended Sunday school since childhood. Here is where he learned a lot about sincere faith. As he grew up, he thought about his life and dedication to the Lord. After a while, Timothy consciously repented of his unbelief and decided to be baptized.
Timofey is the youngest of four siblings. The elder brothers, already members of the Church and are actively engaged in serving the Lord. The oldest is Daniel, responsible for the prayer service. The next one, Matthew, is preparing musical worship in the Church. Igor, more on the handy side, helps at the construction site and occasionally replaces the church teller. Now they were joined by Timofey! Even before he made a covenant with the Lord, he became actively involved in the ministry of the Christian children’s club “Joy”. Blessed are the parents who have put their sincere faith into the hearts of their sons. The words of the Holy Scripture are reflected in their life: – “… I and my house will serve the Lord.”- Joshua 24: 15
We heartily thank the staff and partners from the New Fields Ministries. Only thanks to your participation and looking at God’s greatness and the power of His glory, the joy that our hearts have experienced, became possible.
Six months ago, it was difficult to imagine that the Lord would make such a significant step forward in the construction of the House of Prayer in our community. We hoped and believed that help from God would act at the right time.
Thanks to joint efforts, last year we were able to built the walls of the Prayer House, made and installed metal structures for the roofing system. Now we are completing the assembly of the metal frame and preparing for the installation of metal tiles.
But we are facing a problem, we do not have enough money to purchase the roofing material. It is extremely important to cover the building with a roof this year. If we manage to insert the windows, we will be able to do some internal work during the winter!
We pray for God’s mercy and timely help.
With respect and prayer, Elder of the Church “Word of Truth”
At the beginning of autumn, our traditional meetings of children and teenagers continued in the children’s Christian club “Joy”. The children are waiting for new biblical stories, interesting meetings, fun games, and exciting creative activities. The group of children has slightly changed including the leadership. Inspired by the possibilities for the development of the ministry with children, with new forces we began to fulfill the plan of God for each child: “Do not prevent children from coming to Jesus.”
In addition to meetings at the Christian club, we visit children at home, bringing them humanitarian aid. This is mainly food and essentials. We are already planning and praying for the Christmas performance for the kids of the club and their parents. This year, we wish to involve the children in the Christmas performance. The idea is to involve children in order for their parents to be as motivated as possible, to attend the play and service of the Church.
We started a fundraiser, for the purchase of Christmas gifts in the amount of 50 pieces. Thank you for participating in the life of our church. May God reward and bless you!
The church “Word of Truth” is being developed and built. This year, the summer began with organizing play time hours on playgrounds, which were visited by over 100 children. In addition to the games, we conducted spiritual and moral lessons based on the Bible. After that, some children, who were allowed by their parents, went to our Christian camp. In early July, we baptized three more reborn Christians and they joined our church.
After rehabilitation and adaptation to the new circumstances, two of the children returned home as completely new people. One sister in Christ was baptized with them, she became a believer through the testimony of her daughter, who was baptized a year ago.
My joy increased thanks to a friend of mine. His name is Vladimir, he repented 9 years ago, but the path to God was long and difficult for him. Back then, after he repented, he returned to his family that was destroyed by their sin. His wife repented and became part of our “Word of Truth” community after hearing his testimony and she was baptized in 2011, but he didn’t dare such a step.
For Vladimir, it was a big problem to completely put his life in God’s hands, he is a strong man, a hard worker, and a highly qualified specialist. He is used to solving his problems on his own. But now the moment of truth came, and he fully submitted to Jesus Christ, completely trusting in His infinite love by being baptized.
With the start of the summer, we resumed the construction of our multifunctional house of prayer. Currently, the basement has been completed and the walls of the House have been built. Seeing how much work has already been done makes us rejoice.
The community has grown quite a bit over the years, 40-50 people attend the congregation regularly now. Many ministries have evolved like the family and premarital counseling and a children’s Christian club. Our prison ministry is also growing. And these are not all ministries that our church is involved in.
For now, we organize our services and meetings in a temporary building, we call it the “Tabernacle”. It is very tight in there. Many who came for the first time, were faced with such inconvenience so they no longer return.
To solve this problem there is only one way, to complete the construction of the House of Prayer. This year, before the winter starts, it is important to insert windows, doors, build the roof and install the heater. We believe that through this, the church will have many more opportunities to spread the Word of God in our community.
