Tokmok — Repentance of Children

Tokmok — Repentance of Children

On July 24, after traveling about two thousand kilometers, we arrived in the city of Tokmok. The first thing we managed to do was help with a youth camp. There were over 40 teenagers, 90% of whom were Kyrgyz. We could only help on the first day because Yana had a toothache and sinus inflammation. On the second day of the camp, our son fell ill with a fever and vomiting. Then I got sick too. After a day and a half of fever, I had a sudden recovery.

At the camp, children aged 6 to 12 years traveled to the heavenly harbor for 5 days. During this time, there were just over 50 children—70% Slavs and 30% Kyrgyz. On the last day, when the call to repentance was made, all the children came forward to pray. We do not know the hearts of these children, but we believe there were many genuine acts of repentance.

We had some targeted donations, and we prepared 10 food packages and visited poor families with gifts. It’s an understatement to say that they were happy; some were simply shocked by these gifts. We reminded them of the Lord Christ and prayed for them.

For several Saturdays, our daughter Yana and son Pavel participated in the youth ministry at the local church, where up to 20 kids come.

I cannot remain silent about the mercy that God granted our family during this trip. Yana’s toothache and the need to find a clinic were not coincidental and brought great benefit. The Lord directed us to the right clinic and the right doctor through acquaintances. The prices there turned out to be surprisingly low, and we managed to treat all of our children’s teeth. We spent less than $700, whereas it would have cost us no less than $3,000 at home. The Lord lives, and He is very merciful. Thank you to all the prayer warriors and donors.

God sent us to Kyrgyzstan

God sent us to Kyrgyzstan

The Lord decided that 8 years of my ministry in the “Transfiguration” church was enough. God gave peace to the church and He appointed a man who will be my successor, and I, with a clear conscience, gave my ministry to him.

And the Lord called me to serve in the church “Glory of God.” It is far from my home, on the other side of the city. It is necessary to go from Moscow to Neftanyak. God gave me an understanding that this was His will and I accepted it.

Our daughter Yana left for a year, on a mission trip to Kyrgyzstan. So, this year we are going not to Mongolia, but to Kyrgyzstan. Yana serves in the city of Tokmak, 60 km east of Bishkek. From August 1st to 3rd, we will spend a day camp in a village near Tokmak, which is locally called “Shanghai”.

There are several large families who already started to take on quests in their homes. They are even ready to participate in the preparation of food during the days of the camp. We are planning that there will be at least 50 children. After this, there will be another camp, already in Bishkek, also a three-days long. We hope that there will be at least 50 children. Well, and then after three days we will go back but already with Yana.

Thank you for your prayers and support for these summer camps!
