Mongolia has been under quarantine since February 2020. And in the last 2 months, we have been in high-level quarantine. It was supposed to end on January 6, 2021, but it is being extended again. People are desperate, they have no jobs and no opportunity to feed their families. Many are left without income and without coal for heating. And the winters in Mongolia are up to -40 Fahrenheit. Therefore, our main church “Golden Star” and three other campuses help the suffering people.
Through this ministry, we were able to reach 100 poor families. We understand that one-time help will not be enough. Therefore, we are planning to support each family with $25 per month from January to May 2021 for food and coal. By visiting and communicating with these families, we will become light and salt for them. We can bring the light of the Gospel to them. We select these families together with the district administration. Young families, who lost their jobs due to quarantine, and cannot receive social security from the state remained below the poverty line. Many cannot apply for help because they have a refrigerator or TV, which is considered a luxury.
Mongolia is very cold this winter. Large numbers of livestock are dying out and the price of meat has risen. And the use of firewood and coal has increased. The prices of foodstuffs also went up. We ask you to support our ministry during this difficult time for the Mongolian Church!
