Masaai – the school is closed!

Masaai – the school is closed!

Because of the coronavirus, we had to close the school. As you know, I taught in the church building all these years. I have two classes and I separate the small children from adult children. It has been a difficult time for me. Inside the building, there is the church inventory and a generator that poses a risk due to the fuel in it. It’s hard for me to teach some children inside while watching the others who are outside at the same time.

There was a case when one little boy remembered his mother and went home. Without a word, he suddenly disappeared. When his sister went on a break, she realized that her brother was gone. I called everyone who was nearby to help, after some time, we found him lost in the bushes. Since that time, I regularly go outside and see if all the children are still there. Having a separate building with two or three classes is my dream. When I teach in one class, other children will be able to learn to write or solve math problems in the other class.

Students from poor families come to class. Getting lunch at school is not easy for them. Some have livestock, while others have nothing. Most of these children are raised by one parent. Their mothers depend on beadwork. Due to the virus, they are forced to stay at home and cannot sell their beads in the Masai market. They have no livelihood. This is a very difficult time for my students. Do not forget us in your prayers!

Dasha was sent to the hospice

Dasha was sent to the hospice

Brothers and sisters, I welcome you! I am very glad that we are participating in the spreading of the Gospel and helping people in their grief. We are currently paying special attention to two families – this is Anastasiya with Dasha and Ulyana with Savelya.

As I already wrote, Anastasiya and Dasha were discharged from the St. Petersburg Oncology Hospital without any hope of a positive outcome. Doctors did not want to take the risk and perform the bone marrow transplant since there was a lot of fluid in the head of the child. Dasha lost her sight during this time, and the hospital gave them a referral to a hospice, and this was her destiny in their eyes.

With this information, we continued to pray. Although Anastasiya was on the verge of collapse, she still communicated with me, believed and prayed.

Having met with them once again, in order to take me to the hospital, I was surprised to hear that the vision returned to Dasha, she lost 11kg (24lb) and the swelling went away. What struck me the most was that Dasha entered remission. I have not been so happy for a long time – this is a miracle! There is still a lot to go through, but the last conversation with my mom pleased me. Anastasiya believes that her child will be able to go to a normal school. Although she does not know you personally, she met our God and is infinitely grateful to you and the Lord.

I thank you, brothers and sisters, for your prayers and your participation, we have already been able to do a lot. Seeing our good deeds, people turn to God. Thank you, it would not be possible without you.

Everyday school students!

Everyday school students!

Esther is six years old. She lives in southern Kenya in the Masaai tribe. After a severe, prolonged illness, the family lost their father. Now the mother is forced to raise their daughter alone. Esther has two brothers and two sisters. Both sisters are married. Now she lives with her mother and two brothers in a small hut.

Esther’s life is like many of her peers associated with livestock and beadwork. This is the main source of income. There is no work in these remote villages, and so the products, souvenirs, and necklaces that they make, they have to sell on the side of the road. With the proceeds, her mother buys everything necessary for everyday life.

Esther has her responsibilities in the house. She collects firewood, washes dishes, and regularly carries drinking water in a 5-liter (1.3 gallons) container. Esther loves school, loves to sing. She is a smart talkative girl, good at reading and writing. Due to their poverty, the mother cannot give her food for lunch in school. I have more than 20 children in the classroom and in order to provide lunch for them during the month I need an extra $200. Thank you for participating in the life of my students.

We are very grateful

We are very grateful

Dear Church! We are very grateful for being with us on this part of the World by prayers and your support! Because of God’s grace, we can witness these blessings:

“I will go to Heaven!” – was a very sure answer from a 10-year-old boy. Why do you think this way? we asked him. “Because I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, Who came to this World and died for my sin. And he continued with the whole Gospel in his own words. When he finished, he said: “Do you know who told me about Jesus? P’Kig, my Sunday school teacher!” He was so excited and sure in his words.

Our Sunday school is not the only place where children learn about Christ. God opened the doors in the public school where children and teachers can learn more about God each week. From the first time when we talked about God the Creator and Jesus, His Son, we saw that this news was completely unfamiliar to them, and now we see that there is more understanding in what we are talking about. “Thank you very much for coming here, we are waiting for you and happy when you are here” – were the words of the children. Teachers are sending their greetings to everyone who made it possible for their children to learn English and hear about God. Every single day we can openly present the truth of the Bible! Thank God for these opportunities. Thank you for your prayers, because God gives us strength and joy and doing this, also our local youth encouraged to help in sharing the Gospel.

God is also really working in the hearts of our youth: “I want to be a pastor and open a church up in the mountains where there are no Christians” – said one of our young boys. This desire is not normal for a boy, who is growing in a non-Christian family and in the culture where all expectations to provide a house and car for the family, are put on the son. But God can do miracles and he is the One who gives the desire.

Please continue to pray for

1.    Us to have wisdom in sharing the Gospel

2.    The dry season didn’t start yet, but we already lacking in water and many people need to go to the river to wash their clothes or bring water for their families

3.    Our youth to grow in the Faith and stay firm in the truth

4.    Please pray for God to send us a helper in teaching children for this May – July

Many blessings to every one of you!

Vietnam – meeting with Igor

Vietnam – meeting with Igor

As you remember, we were detained and arrested 2 months ago in a hospital for preaching the Gospel. And here we are again in this hospital. Our friend Igor – a homeless person got here with an injury. He lives on the seashore with his Vietnamese girlfriend Tu. For about a year now we have been praying for them and helping them out.

Igor was hit by a motorcycle; he doesn’t remember anything because the accident was too great. Someone called an ambulance and he ended up in a hospital bed. His head was fractured, he had multiple bruises, and the motorcycle driver disappeared. During prayer walks along the beach, we met him. Having met his girlfriend Tu, we bought food, clothes and went to the hospital. Igor lies under a dropper, already conscious, barely recognizing me. Seeing us, a girl in a white coat came to his bed right away with a bill for his hospital stay. The total of 50,000,000 dong is written on a paper, which is around $2,200. When telling her that he is our friend, that we do not have that kind of money, she left. We prayed and talked. The next day, we visited him again, brought glasses and the Gideon Gospel.

A day later, walking along the beach, I see Tu from far away, waving her hand, she comes to me, and Igor gets out of the bushes and says: “As soon as the doctors in the hospital saw that I was recovering and could walk, somebody else took my bed in the hospital.” His treatment ended abruptly. Igor has been homeless for about 5 years, nobody needs him. He collects cans and cardboard, turns it in for recycling, that’s how he is making his living.

Sometimes, the place where they sleep is cold, and we think how to help them. Please support us in prayer, we have not only Igor in need, but other families with children who live on the street. Thank you for participating in the lives of these people.

Uganda – Open Churches

Uganda – Open Churches

I greet you all in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We pray for the ministry that God began in South Sudan. We pray that the Lord will expand our limits in 2020. Thank you for your prayers and help in the refugee camps in Uganda. We really appreciate the fact that you are nearby and support us in this distress.

The Lord is faithful, we planted 12 new churches in one year. We had 1,119 people baptized. More than 11,000 people have heard the Gospel from our evangelists and then fifteen hundred of them accepted Christ as the Savior. The Lord showed his authority in the freeing of 23 people from demonic dependence. About 40 people returned to the church after the retreat. We thank God for the two evangelists who resumed their ministry in the church of Kajokeci. Due to hostilities, the ministry was terminated in January 2017.

One amazing story happened to a woman named Yakisuk. She was posessed with demons for a long time, and relatives paid money to the witches in Congo to free her. Our brother went to their village and preached the Gospel. When he prayed for her freedom, Yakisuk fainted. Everybody thought she was dead. After she regained consciousness, she stood up – healed and free from the power of Satan. The family and Yakisuk herself were very sorry that they had not turned to Christ earlier. After all, He gives true freedom and doesn’t take money for it but does it all by His grace and love. Continue to pray for revival in Uganda and Sudan.
